Imperial 8vo. (cut down to Royal 9.5 x 6”), two volumes. Pp. (xxxviii) 346; (xxii) 400. Volume I is the 3rd edition, volume II is the 2nd edition, but uniformly published as a set. An inscription on and a light browning of the title pages, the cutting down has left broad margins, the front hinge of volume I is repaired. Interior clean and white with fine impressions of the engravings. Late 19th century green half calf, printed on thick wove paper, watermarked “Smith 1802”, which makes the best of Bewick’s engravings.
